Site Architecture

for the online media

All people have the right to know where they are and where they are going and how to get what they need. People naturally seek places that provide these essential needs.

Andrew Hinton

As the online media grows in popularity and as we become more connected both at home and at work, writers are increasingly called to publish their works online. But just as we wouldn’t remodeled our bathroom without a plan, we shouldn’t publish online without a plan; a plan that considers the information we plan to deliver and the readers and users who will use it. That’s where this course comes in. Site Architecture for Online Media applies the principles and practices of Information Architecture to developing online media sites.

Information Architecture is defined as:

“The art and science of or organizing and labelling web sites, intranets, online communities, and software to support findability and usability.”

And that’s the goal of this course, to help you design sites in which readers can find what they need and use what they find.

While you’re waiting, why not take this simple quiz?
